Wishing.

What is this?
What sort of madness?
I saw you again
We touched hands
We talked
Our eyes locked
Why did I fall?
We had gotten along before
Better than could be expected
And then you left
To carry on with your life
No other words
I couldn't answer your casual mail
It hurt too much
I never expected to see you again
I would wonder about possibilities
And I didn't like that
But here you are
More beautiful and successful than ever
If you knew what I was thinking now
You would probably slap me
Or hold me and never let go
But here I am
Wishing
That things had been different
And that you would come back
And be mine
