Sleep.
I watch you sleep
In the morning
The blinds open
And the sun shining on your face
You sleep
And the birds chirp
And the lawn mowers run
And everything is as it should be
I watch you sleep
I wish I could
But I can't stop watching
You're so beautiful
Lying there
What is there
Behind your eyelids
A fantasic vision, perhaps
Or maybe just darkness and silence
I wish I could know
I watch you sleep
Your eyelids flutter
And then they stop
You rustle in the bedsheets
And I move closer
You whisper something
And I move closer
And then you let out a loud snore
And I laugh
You squint and frown
And then you drift back to sleep
And I keep laughing
You throw your arm around me
And I kiss you lightly on the forehead
And then you smile
And quietly say, "I love you"
And I laugh again
